I Was Visiting The Amazing PERE-LACHAISE Cemetary During My Stay In Paris, Like I Always Do When I'm In Paris. I Love This Cemetary With Its Beautiful Statues, Tombstones & Crypts. It Shows That A Cemetary Can be Something filled With Happiness And Peacefulness A Place To Find Yourself And Get New Power For The Harsh World Outside. My Best Shots I'll Present you Here. I Hope You Enjoy Them As Well :)

ΚΑΤΑ ΤΟΝ ΔΑΙΜΟΝΑ ΕΑΥΤΟΥ is meaning on greek language "cause of his own deamon"
probably his father wanted to say that he died cause of his own actions. i cant think other other explanation right now, but i will search on my historical books that i have, to find that quate, i think its from ancient tragedy(theatrical) that quote, i remember it from the school

It actually doesnt mean "by his own demons".

the phrase KATA
TON DAIMONA EAYTOY is inscribed on Jim Morrison's
grave.[...] This phrase was drafted by Morrison's father
who read a great deal of Greek, mostly New Testament Greek.
His intended message was along the lines "Faithful to his
own spirit." I don't know if he succeeded grammatically,
but that was the intent, according to family statements.

Many say the new greek translates to that.
but kind of morbid to put on a headstone?

So it was said it really means, "true to his own spirit", which is truely him.
I love Morrison and loved the quote, so I added it too an exsisiting tattoo on my foot.

But I just thought to let u know it was a happier meaning!

and btw lovely picture, i wanna go there so bad!
